Writers of the week

“You can make anything by writing”

– C.S Lewis

Every week the teachers choose a child from each year group who has excelled in their writing. The writing may meet or exceed year group expectations in terms of punctuation, grammar, content and vocabulary.

All winners are presented with a certificate during the end of week celebration assembly. A huge well done to all pupils that have achieved this award!

Week beginning 16th January 2023

Ollie T – 7 Bamburgh

For his beautiful free verse poem about the cost of living. He thought carefully about issues people may face and crafted his writing with thought and care.

Oscar G – 8 Collingwood

For his excellent family tree which he spent time and effort on. He clearly understands the connections between characters in ‘Romeo and Juliet’.

Jasmine T – 5 Eagles

For trying so hard with using her show not tell. She was able to think carefully about how both her characters were feeling in a battle scene in the Anglo Saxon era and used a fantastic vocabulary choice.
