January 2021 information

Dear parents/carers

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your incredible support during what has been an unusual term at school. Our pupils have been amazing, adapting to all changes with a positive attitude and shown a mature approach to all aspects of our new routines.

Unfortunately, as you may be aware from various media announcements, more changes are yet to come. Please read the information below to ensure you are clear about the arrangements for spring term.

Arrangements for the return to school

Pupils in years 5 and 6 will return to school on Tuesday 5th January as planned.
Pupils in years 7 and 8 will return to school on Monday 11th January. These pupils will be taught remotely following their normal school timetable, through google classroom, from Tuesday 5th January until Friday 8th January.

These changes are in place to allow us to plan a testing programme in school for staff and pupils. The logistics of this include considerations of new technology, staffing, training and housing the programme, following government guidelines that have not yet been published. We will of course, keep you informed as soon as we are able.

    Remote learning
Our pupils are very accomplished at using their iPads and accessing google classroom. However, if your child finds it difficult to access their work, they can contact the relevant teacher for support immediately, as they will be in school.

If you have any queries about the changes , please contact the school via the admin email address admin@wellfieldmiddleschool.org.uk. We will respond to any queries on Monday 4th January.

I apologise for the late notice of these changes so close to Christmas, however, I am sure you are aware that this is beyond our control.

It leaves me to say, on behalf of myself and all of our staff we would like to wish you a wonderful Christmas and a very happy new year.

    Stay safe
    Susan Winter
